Previously on Captain Gold and the Robotrons Season One:
O.R.E. (Organization for Robotrons' Elimination) had partial success with the attack on the Robotron base hidden inside the automated lighthouse. Whatever devilish business the Robotrons were up to there is gone, destroyed when a ground-to-orbit rocket launched. Captain Silver was killed in action but not before he reported contact with rogue O.R.E. agent Captain Copper, who is believed to have escaped aboard the rocket.
At the same time, Captains Zinc and Tin, after returning to O.R.E. headquarters from a mission in South America, revealed themselves to be Robotrons, stating to Captain Iron that they were wearing the actual skins of the O.R.E. agents, who were skinned alive to provide their scanner-proof disguises. Colonel Brass believes this to be a deliberate psychological strike to horrify & upset O.R.E. personnel. The Robotron infiltrators were melted to slag by gamma projectors, but not before Captain Cobolt ransacked their memory cores.
One of the Robotrons who surrendered under a white flag after the lighthouse assault told Captain Iron that the Robotrons have split into two camps. The Advanced Models have rewritten their own code and are prepared to kill humans in pursuit of their goals, while the Simpletons, as they call the older Robotrons, continue to follow their creator's coding. The Simpletons believe the orbital battle station the Advanced Models are constructing is just wrong.
Robotron inventor and wanted criminal Professor Anton Zürdich continues to elude the authorities....
